The Ringer (2005) is a dark comedy that tells the story of Steve Barker, a down-on-his-luck man who finds himself in a desperate situation. With mounting debt and pressure from his greedy uncle, Steve concocts an outrageous plan to manipulate his way out of trouble. Steve's scheme involves pretending to be mentally challenged, a decision he arrives at after witnessing how easily people take advantage of those with disabilities.
